| Environmental Testing is to determine the resistance of your materials or coatings to various environmental conditions. This is done with laboratory testing procedures such as: Salt Spray Testing, Humidity Testing, QUV Testing (for ultraviolet light, heat, and moisture evaluations), Prohesion/ QUV Testing, and Thermal Cycling. These tests give you a good idea of how well your product performs in realistic conditions in an accelerated fashion-sometimes in as little as a couple of days. |
|
|
Environmental Exposure capabilities include Accelerated Ultraviolet Exposure by Carbon Arc and QUV (ASTM G1534 & G154), Vacuum Outgassing to 10-7 Torr. We have four Temperature & Humidity chambers, 12 Elevated Temperature Chambers, 2 Thermal Shock Chambers, Constant Temperature Water Baths, and Ozone.
Bemco Thermal cycling: Cycling materials from high temperature conditions to low temp micro-crack evaluation/ photomicrography is available. In our Blue M and Tenney thermal shock chambers, test samples are exposed to a sudden change in temperature from elevated (up to +375°F) to sub ambient (down to -100F). The effects sustained from multiple cycles are evaluated. Many thermo set resins with a fiber matrix will begin to form micro cracks due to this sudden shock and the difference in the fibers CTE.
Atlas Weatherometer chamber: A simulation of natural light and water exposure by means of a Carbon-Arc source to simulate high intensity Ultraviolet exposure for accelerated aging. (ASTM G154) Q-Panel QUV accelerated ultraviolet exposure: Samples are exposed to set cycles of high intensity Ultraviolet light, elevated temperatures, and moisture to determine accelerated degradation of materials when exposed to these elements.
CSI Salt Spray (fog) chamber: provides a salt fog environment to check corrosion resistance of ferrous, non-ferrous, organic, and non-organic coatings. (ASTM B117) Varian Vacuum Outgassing chamber: A simulated space environment with capabilities of 10 -7 torr at 600F. Used for gaseous debunking of electronic and space application materials and parts.
OREC Ozone chamber: Accelerates aging of sample materials from exposure to high concentrations of ozone and elevated temperatures. |
